Working Principle
  The drum dryer is a rotating continuous drying equipment with internal heating conduction. The rotating drum passes through the trough below, adhering a material film of a certain thickness. Heat is transferred through the pipeline to the inner wall of the drum, conducted to the outer wall, and then to the material film, evaporating and dehumidifying the moisture in the material film, thereby drying the wet material. The dried material is scraped off the drum surface by a scraper installed on the drum surface and falls onto a screw conveyor placed below the scraper, which collects and packages the dry material.
Performance Features
◎High thermal efficiency. As the heat transfer mechanism of the drum dryer is heat conduction, the direction of heat transfer remains consistent throughout the entire operation cycle. Except for cover heat dissipation and thermal radiation losses, all other heat is used for moisture evaporation from the material film, achieving a thermal efficiency of 70%-80%.
◎High operational flexibility and wide applicability. Many drying factors of the drum dryer can be adjusted, such as feed concentration, coating thickness, heating medium temperature, and drum rotation speed, all of which can change the drying efficiency of the drum dryer without affecting each other. This provides great convenience for drum drying operations, enabling it to adapt to the drying of various materials and different production capacity requirements.
◎Short drying time. The drying cycle of materials is generally only 10-300 seconds, making it suitable for heat-sensitive materials. If the drum dryer is set in a vacuum chamber, it can operate under reduced pressure conditions.
◎High drying rate. Since the material film applied to the drum wall is very thin, generally 0.3-1.5 mm, and the directions of heat and mass transfer are consistent, the material film surface can maintain an evaporation intensity of 20-70 kg H₂O/m²·h.
Installation
  This machine is installed according to the layout of the general drawing. The ground should be level. A pressure gauge and safety valve should be installed at the steam inlet, and all steam inlet flanges should be firmly connected.
Applicable Materials
◎Suitable for drying liquid or viscous materials in industries such as chemical, dye, pharmaceutical, food, and metallurgy.
Maintenance
◎Regularly check the rotation flexibility of rotating components for any jamming. Regularly apply lubricating grease to sprockets and other components, and regularly calibrate the errors of pressure gauges and other measuring instruments. For V-belt drive parts with severe wear, replace them promptly.
◎For the maintenance of the motor and reducer, refer to the motor and reducer usage and maintenance manuals.
Debugging
After installation, carry out a trial run first.
◎Jog the main motor to check the correct rotation direction of the main drum.
◎Observe whether the main drum and transmission parts rotate smoothly, check if the steam inlet and outlet are connected, and whether the pressure gauge is within the working pressure range.
◎Start the motor, let the main drum run smoothly, after the temperature rises, add material, and adjust the motor speed and the uniformity of the material film on the drum to control the final moisture content of the material.
◎Start the screw motor to output the dried finished product, and adjust the screw motor speed according to the amount of dried product.
